Fishing vs. Catching

Went fishing this morning. Planned it all out. Borrow stuff. Check. Stop at Freddys for worms. Check. Look in bait cooler for worms. Che....who stocks a bait cooler with no worms? Kid you not...no worms. Determined to continue I drove out to the lake. Was worried about losing fish because my knots have a tendency not to hold (or not catching them to begin with because I had no worms) but whatever.... Anyway, get my line in the water and I wait. And wait. And reel in to change my bait. And wait some more. You get the picture. So today I definitely went fishing. There was no catching involved. It's all right though, once I thought about it not catching anything was OK. OK because I had never tested the logistics of the limited reach of my midget body, the length of the rod vs. getting the net under the fish. I've been known to fall in the water netting other peoples fish. Whatever possessed me to think I could net my own is beyond me.

All in all though, it was a good day. Sitting by the lake. Talking to my buddy the heron. Watching the osprey. Going fishing again next week. :)
